Hi there.

For a few years now some of my friends and I were blessed enough to have a free house (thank you Unlce David and Aunty Janice) at Rainbow Beach to stay in for a couple weekends throughout the year. It was fantastic! There were about 10 of us packed into a 3 bedroom house so it was a bit squashy but really fun!

Every time we went we'd go for 'explorations' to the sand blow which is this huge sand hill that seems to be getting bigger each year! There's usually lots of hang-gliders up there taking advantage of the winds.

We'd also regularly go for swims either at the beach or in the fresh water streams which is a bit of a drive on some rought tracks. Thanks for your 4WD Ben!

Also, how could I forget the shipwreck on the beach near there (I can't remember what its called but it's pretty famous) or the lighthouse too!

If your ever thinking of going, its a truly beautiful spot on Queenslands coastline!

It is truly a beautiful place and the sand blow is very impressive. Half your luck with the free house. We will be camping there in June 08 and will post an entry on Blavel after our Queensland winter adventure.
