It's late here and I don't feel like staying up and writing an entire blog, but I will post some pics (mainly because the internet costs are cheaper at night). So here's a taste of what I've been up to since my last post. Don't worry, I'll be editing this and writing a real post within the next day or two.
These pics were all taken on my hike at Jonkershoek. There was a really bad wild fire at the beginning of the year, but the place was still beautiful. They actually need to have a fire about every years, otherwise one of their main plants (sorry I can't remember the name) won't reproduce. Random fact: Many years ago they transplanted pine trees into the area and Stellenbosch has the largest paper mill in South Africa! Second random fact: They do have posionous snakes here and I am almost guaranteed to see one while hiking or working at Cheetah outreach. Rest assured though, they are not black mambas. Those are found further north near the Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique borders.
