Hola! So I had my first officail expedition. My group spent three days kayaking in the Carribean sea, I know, I know poor me, but it was incredibly challenging! The first day we got up at 5 had an early breakfast of pancakes, we have pancakes every morning not that great but they fill you up, then it was down to the beach to load the kayaks. We left around 8am and were kayaking for about 3 hours, saw lots of dolphins and pelicans, it was so amazing! We set up camp right on the beach we just had a roof and then hung hammocks up and slept there. All night long there were goats that came into the camp and ate all the leftovers it was quite interesting. The next day we kayaked for 6 hours, 3 in the morning then spent 1 hour on a beautiful white sand beach and then did another 3 hours, it was ridiculously hard but really good fun. It was really sad to see all the trash, mostly plastic bottles scattered all along the beach and everywhere in the ocean, so all of you who still us plastic bottles please stop buy a klean kanteen!!The next day we were supposed to kayak to another beach, have spanish class and lunch and head home, but thankfully it was raining so we had to go straight back and none of us had any complaints about that. It was a great trip, very challenging, but a wonderful experience. Today we did a 3 hour hike in the mountains in Playa Colorada which is where I am living and it was really beautiful. The views were all amazing, the sea is such a beautiful color and the mountains are lush and green! On Tuesday we are leaving to the Orinoco Delta for 12 days of kayking and living in the jungle so no more posts for a couple of weeks but sending my love to all of you!!
Ciao
Kaitlyn
