Wild West

Hey blavel!

So, we've returned from our American adventure, and I figured it was probably time for a quick Blavel update.

We flew out of Brisbane direct to LA with V Australia. I would highly recommend V- their plane was brand new, and the service was great- even the food was quite good, although did not come close to surpassing the food we received on Swiss last year. After that flight, we had two further flights on Delta to eventually arrive in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Jackson Hole was gorgeous. So much to see- gorgeous snow topped mountains, everything else so very green and pristine. It really was a beautiful place. The town itself is very small and quite tourist oriented. Everything from the airport (elk horn archway above the entry) to the town itself had such 'western' charm, albeit clearly somewhat of a gimmick tailored towards the tourism nature of the place, but nevertheless was charming. The weather was beautiful and everyone was very down to earth and friendly. My conference on the Thursday and Friday went well despite jetlag, and my presentation was well-received. My concerns about the accommodation proved to be without reason, as the hotel was quite fantastic. We fit a lot into the remainder of our time in Jackson; We went white water rafting on the Saturday, on a tour of Yellowstone on the Sunday, and up the chairlift on a mountain in Jackson hole on Monday before we left (got some gorgeous pictures of the Tetons up there, too). In retrospect, I wish that we'd had more time in Jackson hole and less in San Fran, because it was just so relaxing and gorgeous there.

Anyway, I will update on San Fran in another entry, and leave you with a few pictures.

Cool, white water rafting. Was it scary? I've always wanted to do that but I'm also terrified of it! Pics look great! xxx
