Shorter travel day today.  Completed the run in about 4 hours.  We left Flint, MI and traveled to Chicago, Il.  Uneventful trip.  We met our middle daughter Sarah in Chicago.  She is a manager at restaurant, hotel, nightclub downtown.  Had lunch at the restaurant.  The fare here is quite good.  We beamed with pride as several staffers and people at administration stopped over to meet us and tell us how critical Sarah is the work taking place there.  Sarah couldn't stay with us the entire time we were there, she had duties that required her attention.  Real life is forcing us to accept that our "wild child" has found a place in world.  Kinda calming. Certainly a source of pride for Linda and I.

Sarah took us to Grant Park to see a bit of the Chicago Jazz Fest.  High caliber, free entertainment.  While at the jazzfest we ran into Jon and Chris Robson, their son Zach and his bride Hannah.  Friends from back home.  Totally unexpected.  Zach and Hannah are newlyweds.  Kinda cool that they are taking care of the old folks (gotcha Jon!!!).

After the jazzfest, Sarah met our oldest daughter Megan.  Megan had college friends coming into town to celebrate a 21st birthday and Sarah agreed to be their guide.  Sarah is supposed to a college student but somehow flits in and out high society and Chicago's swankiest nightclubs.  VIP list and the whole shebang.  So Sarah is showing Megan and friends around.  We reminded Sarah that 21st birthdays are often binging affairs and she might want to impose some ground rules in order to avoid having doors closed that she uses for business contacts.  Apparently, the behavior of the birthday party was tolerable.  We're never told the details.  Meanwhile, Linda and I checked into our hotel in Skokie, Il.  This is the same property that we stayed at last fall when Sarah had knee surgery.  Linda and I have nothing to prove so we went to bed at at reasonable hour this evening.
