Japanese Food Festival

Eric's Japanese tutor told him about a Japanese festival being held near the Singapore Expo centre. So we went along. After discovering that Singapore Expo is a massive convention centre similar to the NEC back home, and that they were selling loads of discount stuff there, we arrived at the festival fairly late and to find a massive queue. It went really quickly though and we then got into the maze of queues for the food stalls inside. I loved how there were guys holding sign at the end of the line for the stall so you knew where to aim for.

Loads of the people were wearing kimonos. Kids in kimonos are really cute. It's a shame we don't have any traditional dress like it in England. It's was pretty cool to see groups of young people wearing them, having obviously got dressed up for the ocasion, but then just chilling out on the grass like they were wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

The performances ranged from good to funny. There was a football skills show at one point where they kept dropping the balls (and then pretending that it was all part of the act; not convinced).

There weren't any other tourists there which was pretty cool.

Long ride for pretty much the entire green line of the MRT back though (after all it's from one side of the country to the other ;)
