Ola from Porto!

We had a very nice couple of days in Lisbon, a lot of walking though, and their streets are soooo uneven the cobblestones killed our feet! To give you an idea, its called The City Of Seven Hills, and the hills are all on about a 45 degree angle. Metros dont go up the hills. We went to a cool market this morning called the Thieves Market, which seriously was the rejects of value village! People set up little tarps and sell things, anything from doorknobs to replica muskets to keys that dont fit any door to a super 8 camera to taps that dont fit any sink to pants to an instrument panel for a car. everything, you name it! mostly junk though. we didnt buy much even though there were cool things because we had no way to get it home.. our suitcases are already stuffed, especially Suzannes/mine.

We took the train to Porto today.. we are so sick of trains and train stations! Porto sketched us out at first because we didnt really have any knowledge of the metro or where our hotel was... its a good thing Suzanne checked out directions beforehand. Im so prepared. Also, the parts of Porto we had to take the metro through were quite... how shall I put this... derelict? sketchy as hell? somewhere you really, really dont want to be. luckily our hotel is in a nice part of town and we LOVELOVE it!! we have a very nice and very clean room, on the very top floor, with nice beds and a TV and a human sized bathroom and a balcony overlooking Porto. We are just about to head out for dinner at a nearby restaurant. Tomorrow were doing a bunch of sightseeing near the river (Porto is the Venice of Portugal) etc etc, and we might treat ourselves to massages because we are soooo sore! Its been a lot of walking, and Suzannes purse is very heavy.

Were home in less than a week, see you all soon!
