Where the English come to die--It's beautiful.
Stories I heard today about Beachy head and Eastbourne:
• One woman drove for hours with her two children just to drive off the cliff with them.
• A touist caught in a still photo a man mid-air jumping off the cliff.
• 2 men were found dead at the bottom of the cliff with a backpack carrying a child. It was hard to tell whether the child died with them during the fall or if the child's death had caused the two men to jump.
• A man at the house we stayed at for a bit smothered his wife and then jumped off the cliff because he didn't want her to deal with his financial problems.
• Only two men have survived their attempted suicide at beachy head.
