Sadly we are leaving beautiful Amstelveen/Amsterdam and our friends Cathy, Rich and Bogart. What a great start to our trip and what great hosts/tour guides we had. THANKS Cathy & Rich!!!
Headed to the train station and made our train with 2 minutes to spare! That was close.
Next stop, Paris.
We arrived in Paris and picked up our rental car (a VW Golf). Now, it's off to Caen...
After spending too much time trying to leave Paris we finally were on our way. We arrived in Caen late afternoon and found our hotel.

After freshening up we decided to head out for dinner.
At this point I was feeling very lost and like a stupid American tourist... who knew I'd need to know French for this trip? France was not on the itinerary! LOL
After a while we found a nice restaurant and had the waitress translate the menu for us. Not really sure what we ordered but I ended up with fish and hubby had steak. Both very good. The dessert was FABULOUS!
