Funny story about why we have no photos from Nice and Monaco on the French Riviera...
I kind of forgot that I had the camera in the pocket of my boardies and went for a swim in the lovely Mediterranean, which I guess it wasn't designed for, because it kind of DOESN'T WORK NOW!
Don't worry, I found a new one and whacked it on the ol' credit card, so she'll be right.
We had good weather in Nice for a day or two - but then it was raining and storming for the rest, which wasn't real great because a) there's not that much to do in Nice when it's raining and b) it was storming right when we needed to haul our bags to the bus station to catch a midnight bus to Barcelona. Good times.
But other than that it was really good - great beach and lots of good places to eat.
The bus to Barcelona was DISGUSTING. Can you tell I am kind of over bus trips! And also that I have developed a strange tendency for writing in capital letters?
We got on the bus in the middle of the night. It didn't even pull into the bus station, it just stopped on the street outside and we had to drag our bags out there and wait outside it in the rain while the bus driver checked us everyone's tickets from inside the bus! Then when we got in it was packed so Sharon and I had to sit separately.
I sat beside this guy who seemed quite small to start with. Funny thing was, as soon as he fell asleep his body kind of expanded and started spreading all over me. No amount of elbowing or pushing could halt the advance. Needless to say, I didn't have a wink of sleep that night...
