Many apologies for not updating for a few days... I have been too busy living it up with the boys in Berlin (plus Ben couldn't remember his wireless password). I will try to make for it now...
I arrived in Berlin on Sunday morning after two nights on the train from St Petersburg, via Belarus and Poland, which was fairly uneventful, I shared my cabin with a Belarussian old lady who seemed nice enough, she gave me some bread, I gave her some chocolate. Getting to Germany was just so incredibly exciting, I felt like crying... because I love Germany, because I was meeting wonderful friends there and because it feels so almost like home. I had decided already that I didn't want to do too much in Berlin, I've been there before, so I just wanted to relax and have fun... and so I spent the last few days hanging around with lovely Ben and lovely Beavs, eating, drinking and walking around the fabulous, fun city. Highlights include, the Christmas markets (and the gluwein!), my Berlin bus tour (so weird) and all the delicious meals that were cooked... excellent borscht Ben. Catching up with old friends has also been excellent, so much so that I might go back again ridiculously soon...
Last night I loaded up my bags (much to Ben's amusement) and waddled back towards the Hauptbahnhof to make the next bit of journey - Berlin to Paris. The German night train was probably the nicest one I've been on actually, even though there were six in a cabin, which was a bit crowded. I was sharing with a French couple, a German man and two American girls, all of whom seemed nice... this morning the German guy woke me up in just his pants, good morning! And with that, we were in Paris! Hooray! So I met my mum and dad at the station here, and today we've spent the day walking around Paris and eating crepes and drinking coffee.
So tomorrow... fanfare please... I will get back to LONDON! In the afternoon we're getting the Eurostar under the channel and I'll really be home for good. Very exciting indeed. I literally cannot wait. It's been a long trip, but I'm almost there...
