We were a little misinformed about how long the bus trip from bogota to san gil would be, so instead ofarriving at 7:30am like we wouldhae hoped, we arrived at 3:30 in the morning. Intead of going straight toa hosl, we decided to hang out at the bus terminal for an hour and a half so that when we did get to a hostel, we wouldnt have to pay for the previous night. we did not enjoy our time there. all vey exhausted and grumpy. Finlly we went to a hostel, and liam and torz got their beds, while K and Frey slept in hammocks until theirs was rady. That day after the usual scrambled egg start to the day, we organised an activity. The one we wanted to do was called "hydro speed", which is basically boogie boarding down the same rapidous river that rafts go on! It was incredibly scay but also very fun. We all had some close calls, but finished with only a few cuts and bruises. that nigt we ate out for the first time in colombia, as it is quite expensive to do so. The massive pizzas we had were INCREDIBLE =)
The next da, Liam, torz and k did levl 5 rafting while frey (who felt it was to pricy) explored the churches and the town. the rafting people had an amazing time! the rapids were huge and they had to work soo hard to keep from falling out. Not that it stopped liam taking a quick, unanted dip! The next day we caught a bus to Santa Marta, which is the town that connects t Tagenga, the beach town we would spend the next week or so.
