We were back on the road by 0930 and before long had crossed the SA quarantine check point and reached the port town of Ceduna.  Quite a pleasant town with the largest obvious indigenous population we have seen since Geraldton.  We took a drive around to the port end of the town at Thevenard where gypsum, wheat and salt shipped from.  After some essential shopping, filling the van with water and the Beast with fuel, we headed south down the Eyre Peninsula and a nice lunch stop at Smoky Bay.

We drove through wheat growing country for the remainder of the day with a stop at Streaky Bay.  A quaint little town with some lovely old buildings overlooking a nice bay.  With very few attractive or practical rest areas along the way we set our sights on a coastal reserve about 117km south of Streaky Bay and just north of Elliston for the night.  The 3km gravel road in was a bit rough but we took our time and on arrival found a nice spot quite close to the ocean and sheltered from any southerly weather by some quite high dunes.

The coastline is fairly typical of this side of the peninsula being soft rough rock intermixed with nice sand beaches backed by scrub covered sand dunes.  All in all quite nice.  With us having traveled quite a distance over the past week we decided to have a lay day as we were feeling a bit travel weary.  The weather was not too bad with a bit of overnight rain followed by an overcast day although later in the day showers and a cold southerly wind moved in.

The coast looks neat for exploring.Glad you are still having a good time and that you have not had to deal with any really bad weather. We are a little bit wet and windy here in Aucks but that is nothing to what they are having further down the Island. Stay safe stay well.
